Fall is here and that means it’s time for the Austin City Limits Music Festival! Now that the nights are getting a little chilly it’s time to get out and enjoy all of the great offerings that Austin is known for. From music festivals to Halloween events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this October.

Austin City Limits Music Festival

One of the country’s largest celebrations of music, this six-day festival brings the magic of the famed public TV series Austin City Limits outside the studio and into Austin’s most beloved park with more than 140 musical acts on eight stages over two weekends.

Texas Teen Book Festival
When: October 6th, 2018
Where: St Edward’s University
3001 S Congress Avenue
Austin, TX

The Texas Teen Book Festival is FREE and open to the public. No, you don’t have to be a teen to attend. We welcome all ages. The Festival will feature nationally and critically recognized authors, writing workshops, and workshops for educators.

Book sales at the Festival support the one-day event. Thank you for your support!

Oktoberfest
When: October 13th, 2018
Where: The German Free School
Building 507 E 10thStreet
Austin, TX

The second most famous Oktoberfest happens right here in Austin, Texas. We will be celebrating our Oktoberfest here at the German-Texan Heritage Society on 10.13.2018 from 11am – 7pm. Come and enjoy some Gemuetlichkeit, German food and beer as well as live bands.

Banger’s Oktoberfest
When: October 18th– 20th, 2018
Where: Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden

It’s our favorite time of year, folks, like Christmas for sausage and beer lovers. The celebration of celebrations. It’s OKTOBERFEST.

Three days of spaetzle, oompa bands, and malty goodness. Of dirndls and lederhosen. Of German potato cakes and weisswurst. Come join us on October 18th, 19th, and 20th. German food, German beer, and an all around good time.

Viva la Vida Street Festival
When: October 27th, 2018
Where: 4thand Congress
Austin, TX

The Viva la Vida Street Festival is comprised of four major areas: Calavera Central, Fantastical Makers Plaza, Muertos Mercado, and Lowrider Lane. Each location offers exciting ways to celebrate Día de Los Muertos. Explore more below!

Texas Book Festival
When: October 27thand 28th, 2018
Where: Texas State Capitol Building
Austin, TX

One of the largest and most prestigious literary festivals in the country, the annual Texas Book Festival features 250+ nationally and critically recognized adult and children’s authors, 20+ venues including the State Capitol, 100+ exhibitors, local food trucks, family activities, and countless opportunities to meet authors and fellow book lovers.

Texas Fireworks Dia de los Muertos Celebration
When: October 31st, 2018
Where: Kreig Baseball Field

Austin, TX

This year we introduce community fair booths, some early morning yoga and be on the lookout for great activities for kids as well as a bit of entertainment. With every year the fireworks gets bigger and better. We hope to raise money and donations for all those affected across Texas and The Virgin Islands as well as our favorite local charities.
