Republic of Texas Biker Rally

For 23 years, the ROT Rally has brought bike riders and enthusiasts from all 50 states and international locations to Austin, Texas for the largest “turnstile” (paid ticketed attendees) motorcycle bike rally in the United States.

The ROT Rally is held at the Travis County Expo Center, and is widely known for its downtown Austin bike parade, which closes off more than 50 city blocks and ends on Congress Avenue in front of the Texas State Capitol. The ROT Rally attracts distinguished musical acts and entertainers from Willie Nelson, Sammy Hagar, Joan Jett, Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

11th annual Austin African American Book Festival

the 11th annual Austin African American Book Festival will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the George Washington Carver Library (1161 Angelina) and George Washington Carver Museum (1165 Angelina).  Authors from around the country are expected.  Time:  10am – 4pm
